Committees
Finance: (Chair – Joe Fuller: Vice-chair – Margaret Crouch) Manage the financial affairs of the Association. Seek sources of funding. Manage grant programs. Treasurer is chairperson and Grant Administrator is vice-chairperson.
Interpretative Center Oversight: (Chair – Wanda McConnell) Oversee operation of the Blockhouse Interpretative Center. Schedules staffing, select and procure items for sale by the Association in the gift shop and through other outlets, arrange for cleaning and routine maintenance, coordinate interpretative and educational programs.
Blockhouse Special Events: (Chair – Sally Kelly) Organize and coordinate special events at the Blockhouse. Arrange for special participants and reenactors.
Blockhouse Interpretative Programs: (Chair – Jean Brown) Organize and coordinate weekend interpretative programs at the Blockhouse. Schedule weekend hosts, arrange for craft and frontier skills demonstrations, liaison with NTSP for special educational programs or tours.
Marketing: (Chair – David Oaks) Develop and manage marketing or business plans for the Association. Coordinate with regional historical sites and organizations, interact with marketing groups and coordinate management of the Association web site. Oversee long range planning.
Publications: (Chair – Bob McConnell) Develop, edit, produce and publish Association historical, educational and promotional materials such as all brochures, maps, books, pamphlets, audio and video materials for internal use and sale to the public.
Publicity/Public Relations: (Chair – Vacant) Develop and manage publicity plan/programs, advertising and promotions. Liaison with area and regional tourism organizations.
Native American Day: (Chair – Danny Dixon) Organize and coordinate annual Native American Day event and programs. Act as liaison with area Native American groups.
Archives/Historical Records: (Chair – Barbara Reed) Collect and archive all Association documents, papers and library collections. Maintain a historical data base for internal use and response to requests from the public. Provide interpretative material for use at the Blockhouse and the Interpretative Center.
Blockhouse Furnishings Committee: (Chair – Vacant) Perform research to determine period correct furnishings and related items for the Blockhouse. Locate appropriate furnishings and brings forth acquisitions proposals for the Association’s approval.
